As a lifelong Metallica fan, stepping into Accor Stadium Sydney in 2025 feels like a childhood dream finally exploding into reality. From blasting Master of Puppets on cheap speakers as a kid to standing here with thousands of voices ready to scream every riff and every word—this moment is everything. Tonight isn’t just a concert… it’s the dream I’ve carried since I first discovered the gods of metal. Let’s ride the lightning. πΈπ₯
I honestly didn’t think I’d make it to this show. I only got my tickets a week before the event, thanks to a good friend—basically family—who works in Evanescence’s production team. I’d asked him a year ago if there was any chance of getting in, and he told me straight up: no way. So standing here now feels unreal, like everything aligned at the last second just for this moment. Growing up, big bands rarely passed through my country, and if they did, they’d play the mainland—too far, too expensive—so seeing Metallica always felt like a distant dream. And with Evanescence opening (this will be my third time seeing them after Qudos Arena 2023 and Metro Theatre 2025), it’s the kind of lineup my younger self would never have believed.
