On September 17, 2023, I went on a whale watching cruise in Sydney Harbour, not knowing what to expect but hoping to catch a glimpse of these majestic creatures. The sky was clear, the sea calm, and the city skyline slowly faded behind us as we ventured out toward deeper waters. For the first hour, I kept my eyes peeled, scanning every ripple, every shadow on the waves. Just when I started to wonder if we’d see anything, a single fin appeared — slicing through the surface for just a few seconds. It was small, fleeting, but it filled me with excitement. That one moment made it all feel worth it.
Then, as if the whales were waiting for the perfect timing, the last 30 minutes turned into something out of a nature documentary. Suddenly, there were whales everywhere — breaching, tail-slapping, and launching their enormous bodies out of the water in powerful, almost choreographed bursts. One after another, they jumped and played, their splashes echoing through the air. It felt unreal. Everyone on board was cheering, pointing, gasping — pure joy rippling through the crowd.
So, You start with the usual safety protocol demonstration:
as Usual , I brought A figure with me, this was a blindbox item scuba diver figure
A view at the back of the City.
The views are great on the way to the whale spot
My heart skipped a beat when I saw the flippers go up and was happy enough with this site, this was 40 minutes in from when we started.
But yes more will come.
When we saw this FIN, we all jumped in exctement, just knowing they exist . Its like seeing the Brachiosaurus for the first time.
Again, I was just happy and excited to see JUST this.

This was from another friend, Eldab.
An aftermath of their blowholes mist.
These last few jumps was when we were about to leave, and they just put on a few last Hooras! as if it was a show. Such an amazing sight.
END
It was a magical, humbling experience to witness such wild beauty up close. The ocean felt alive, and for a while, so did I — completely in the moment, swept up in awe. I’ll never forget the feeling of that last half hour — like the whales had decided to put on a show just for us.
